Doodles is the perfect, gentle way to introduce your child to the key social and learning skills they need to effortlessly and confidently make the transition to school.

From the moment your child arrives they are in a child-oriented world that’s totally geared to their needs. They will enjoy a variety of opportunities and experiences designed to stretch their imagination and develop their skills.

For many, this may be their first time away from mummy and daddy, where they can make their own special, perhaps even lifelong, friends, in a safe, secure, relaxed and very friendly environment.

Each 2˝-hour session at Doodles is filled with exciting and stimulating activities. The children join together in small, fully supervised groups. By mixing with the other children in the group your child will learn to share, take turns, develop patience – and experience the fun and joy of being part of the group.

Our Vision

At Doodles, the main focus is on the child’s overall development, where the child is given the possibilities to venture, explore and implement. Today’s educational scenario demands innovative technologies which hones the child’s capabilities.

We at Doodles, nurture and develop these cognitive skills which helps the child and it complements the child’s motor skills too.

Curriculum - The Purpose and Aims of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfill their potential. A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. The EYFS is mandatory for all schools and early years providers in Ofsted registered settings attended by young children - that is children from birth to the end of the academic year in which the child has their fifth birthday. If your child begins their learning journey with us building blocks will be laid and the foundations will be completed in their first year at school. We work closely with both the local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition for all our children. If you are at all unsure then please don't hesitate to ask us!

Classrooms are arranged to offer challenging play and learning choices at a wide range of developmental levels. Learning centers allow children the opportunity to explore, problem-solve, investigate, work together as a team, and meet with success. Children are exposed to whole group work, small groups, and individual instruction each day.

Our thematic-based curriculum focuses on reading, writing, language, math, science, social studies, art, music, and physical fitness activities. Teachers and administrators spend time listening to and talking with children, helping kids reflect on their daily learning. The positive interactions between teachers and students encourage the development of emotional, linguistic, and social skills, leading to a strong sense of self and self-esteem. With a range of child-centered activities and a warm, safe, and nurturing environment, children have every opportunity to have fun while learning.

We celebrate the cultural diversity of Doodles Preschool children and families, and we encourage multicultural learning through respect, understanding, and appreciation.

Our curriculum concentrates on the main areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Our objective is to give as many children as possible a wide range of opportunities that will develop their skills, challenge and inspire them, so that they become well rounded, confident, capable, independent little people, well prepared for full-time education. Focusing on the key EYFS areas enables us to foster development in the following important areas:

Creative Skills

Developing senses and imagination using dance, drama, role-play, art, craft, junk modelling and weekly music lessons.

Social Skills

Learning how to relate to other people, both adults and children, and gain an understanding of what is right and wrong. Through mixing, sharing, taking turns, good personal hygiene, and independent dressing, we hope to promote confidence, self-esteem, self-motivation, good manners, respect for others and their environment, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Language and Literacy

Learning to be a confident communicator and to experience and enjoy writing, the joy of sounds, and reading. Our circle-time discussions, the interest table, and having personal name cards provide the perfect opportunity for children to speak out and be listened to. Regular story time, our cozy book corner, and the use of digital media for developing concentration and listening skills, all provide a solid foundation for reading later in life. Many children leave Doodles Pre-school able to read and write.


Looking at shapes, colors, sorting games, moving onto counting, recognizing numbers, problem-solving, discovering, exploring, experimenting, and learning the joy of mathematical application (such as which is the heaviest, tallest, etc.). To carry out these activities we use a range of everyday objects and nature, and we play lots of interesting and enjoyable games.

Knowledge of the World

Discovering about life, environments, people and places. To enhance this topic we have had a variety of visitors from various walks of life, such as a pilot, chef, potter, fireman, qualified football coach, and someone from the Japan Society. The children enjoy learning from others and gain firsthand experience that they can transfer in their drama, role-play and free-play activities. The drama, home corner and interest table foster these ideas further by providing useful equipment from around the home and the environment.

Physical Development

For health and life, we foster fine and gross motor skills, indoors and outdoors. We are extremely lucky to have the use of our own dedicated outside space for free flow indoor and outdoor play. We encourage healthy eating and discuss the values of good food, drink, rest and exercise. We have weekly PE lessons designed to stretch and encourage the children to push themselves a little further than normal, and we have an annual sports day with a range of activities to promote all skills, such as throwing, dribbling, working as a team, etc.
